When going camping it’s good to try and be as prepared for every eventuality that you might come across. Situations can change at a moment’s notice especially the good old British weather, from sunny to rain in a matter of minutes. So always make sure you have the right clothing.

Before you set off on your camping adventure it’s good to double check you have everything you need, from your tent to warm sleeping bags and cooking utensils. Its good to make sure you have enough food and water, and to know were the nearest food shop is, if there is one.

2. Be considerate to the wildlife and fellow Campers

Camping is a great way to connect with nature, with the tranquillity and peaceful surroundings. Always respect the wildlife, as this is their home. Alway be respectful to other campers and hikers which you meet along the way. When pitching your tent always give other campers there privacy, not all campers are as sociable as you might like them to be.

3. Be Safe

Always check the rules whether you are wilderness camping or camping on a campsite. There’s something exciting about sitting round a fire and cooking. However, this can be dangerous and is not allowed at certain sites, and in areas in the wild. so make sure you know the rules about camp fires at the place you are pitching your tent. You should also never burn anything you’re not meant to like plastic items, aluminium foils or foil-lined items.

4. Leave it how you found it

Always take a few plastic bin liners to clear up any rubbish you might have. If there are no facilities on site, or you are out in the wilderness make sure to take your waste home with you.
